Umbrella's HQ in France. Unfortunately, Claire is abducted and taken to a island in South America and finds that the virus mutations have happened on this island as well. While Chris, hoping to find out more in Europe, somehow manages to turn up there as well. As for the island it is known that the island is a prison, called Rockfort Prison (on Rockfort Island amazingly).

Three months after the terrible incident in Raccoon City, Claire Redfield is now working as a secret agent whom is bent on destroying everything of the Umbrella Corporation and is also in search of her missing brother Chris. While in Paris trying to destroy an Umbrella lab, she got caught then sent to a prison island in South America where she is being held for trespassing. However the T-Virus has broken out on the island turning the employees into zombies and unleashes mutant beings that are loose. Now she escapes from her cell as she joins up with a boy named Steve as together they must battle the undead and other monsters to find a way to escape the island to head to the main Umbrella lab in the Arctic where a hidden lab from Umbrella is there and Chris is also looking for her.<br/><br/>An exciting if quite long yet challenging installment of the franchise! here you play as Claire and Chris in this game. The graphics are very impressive using polygon 3-D with realism in nice details, wonderful environments, cool monsters and zombies and more weapons. The cut-scene cinemas are terrific and the voice acting isn&#39;t half-bad, however this game does require brains and some of the puzzles are a bit on the weak side.<br/><br/>It&#39;s scary as hell and sure to be enjoyable for fans of the series.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS&quot;********************<br/><br/>Way back in 1998 I read that a new &quot;Resident Evil&quot;(&quot;Biohazard&quot;) game was being developed for the Sega Dreamcast console. I was and I still am hooked on the RE series, but sadly &quot;Resident Evil Code:Veronica&quot; would be exclusive to Sega Dreamcast. I had a Playstation and I planned to buy a Playstation 2 when it would come out, so I couldn`t afford buying a console just to play the new RE title. &quot;Resident Evil Code:Veronica&quot; was finally released in january 2000, the game was still exclusive to Sega Dreamcast. It hurt a lot to see a new chapter of the series on a non-Playstation console. But then suddenly in the autumn of 2000, the game`s developers announced that they would bring a version of the game to Playstation 2, including new plot details that would explain the story better. Finally, on the 7th of september 2001, I bought &quot;Resident Evil Code:Veronica X&quot;(called &quot;Code:Veronica Complete Edition&quot; in Japan&quot;. The game immediatly sucks you into its world of horror, action and adventure. The graphics found here are massivly improved over the graphics in RE 1-3 on the Playstation. The story is exstremely important as always, and people who`ve followed the series from the beginning will get the most out of this title. There are plenty of moments where you`ll be scared to death and the game sees the return of 3 familar characters: Claire Redfield(from RE2), Chris Redfield (from RE1) and surprisingly the villain from RE1; Albert Wesker! The game is an essential edition to your Playstation 2 library of classics, but after having played the game to death, I still think that RE 1 is still the best in the series.<br/><br/>10/10

The opening FMV, with Claire Redfield infiltrating the Umbrella facility in Paris, takes place on December 17, 1998, which is 5 months after the events from Resident Evil, and 2.5 months after the events from Resident Evil 2 and 3. The gameplay continues 10 days later (the 27th), with Claire arriving on Rockfort Island. The T-Veronica virus is the main virus used in Resident Evil: Code Veronica, and is responsible for the mutation of several enemies. There is also a variant strain of the virus named T-Alexia that is a diluted form of the virus created during its period of cryogenesis in its main host, Alexia Ashford.<br/><br/>According to the series timeline, the T-Veronica virus was created by Alexia Ashford through synthesis of the Progenitor virus and the gene of a queen ant that contained an &quot;ancient virus&quot;. She administered it to her father, but because the infection was not controlled, he became unstable and mindless. This led her to discover that the mutations could be controlled if slowly absorbed during cryogenesis.<br/><br/>Like the Progenitor and T- viruses, the T-Veronica virus causes rapid mutation, but the infection can be controlled and intelligence can be retained if the virus is absorbed over a long period of time. Alexia Ashford achieved this by remaining in a cryogenic sleep for fifteen years while the virus merged with her at a cellular level. Among the mutations to Alexia caused by the virus were combustible blood and vomit, multiple tentacular muscles, and the ability to exert control over the hive mind of the ants the virus was extracted from.<br/><br/>Though the T-Veronica virus is a useful tool for transhumanism purposes, it is useless as a bio-weapon, as its infection rate is low and it can only be transferred through direct injection. Because she is able to mentally control any organism infected with T-Veronica, Alexia, rather than use the virus as a weapon, planned to use her infected ants to spread the virus around the world by biting and injecting humans and animals with the virus, giving her control of every creature on earth. As he explains after having to shoot down his undead father, his dad used to work for the Umbrella Corporation and was caught stealing secret information and trying to sell it off in the black market to the highest bidder. Him and his father were thrown in the prison, but the company killed his mother.
